Hawthorn Builders serves Needham, Massachusetts with custom design and build services, as the company has since 2005. Originally, Hawthorn wasstarted as a real estate development and investment firm founded by Mathew Roth and Ryan McDonnell. After McDonnell and Roth bought two multi-family homes and renovated and sold them, they started to shift their focus from buying and flipping homes to custom construction and renovations. The evolution of this company has helped many property owners throughout the area improve their property and allow for more people to create their dream houses. Hawthorn Builders converted their first property in Needham into a sumptuous Colonial and sold it after their first purchases in Roslindale and Dedham. In early 2007, founders Roth and McDonnell brought in Tavis Babbitt of Babbitt Design to help them create new plans for a new building there. What started as Hawthorn Investments, which was primarily concerned with adding value to properties in
